How far along: 22 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +18 lbs (I'll find out at the doctor on Wednesday...scary!)
Maternity clothes: Finally cleaned my closet out to make room for the "new" wardrobe. I'm pretty much exclusively wearing maternity clothes with the exception of a few shirts and dresses I can still
Stretch marks: Negative
Sleep: Depends on the night...some nights are great and others I toss and turn all night.
Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat on Monday!!! We had a bit of a scare and ended up in Labor & Delivery for a full-checkup on August 13th - Boon's birthday. (See below for further explanation.)
Miss anything: To be honest and at the risk of sounding totally lame, I am actually really missing "fashion" this week. As I was shopping online for maternity pants and cute fall boots, I started noticing all of the super cute fall-fashion looks and it made me kind of sad that I can't wear them this year. But no worries...I will do my best to modify the looks to suite a baby bump!!
Movement: I *LOVE* movement!!! I just can't wait until Boon can feel her too!
Food cravings: Candy....candy....candy!!
Anything making me queasy or sick: Ok - to finish the story I started above under "Best Moment This Week": on our way home after dinner on Wednesday (08/08) I got really sick for some unknown reason and as I was asking Boon to pull-over I started blacking out. Well, I didn't end up actually fainting and never did get "sick", but the rest of the night I was super dizzy. The dizziness lasted until Friday (08/10) so I called the doctor, but since I was still feeling movement and not experiencing any other problems they didn't think the dizziness was pregnancy related so I went on with my day. Well, that night the dizziness stopped, but a horrible pain started in my right side and continued down to my leg. I also noticed I wasn't really feeling any movement. The pain lasted throughout Saturday and off and on all day Sunday, then on Sunday my belly button became extremely sensitive and looked bruised...and the worst part I hadn't felt the baby all weekend. I figured I'd wait until after lunch on Monday to see if she'd move, but nothing happened so I called the doctor again. I totally figured I was being an overly-freaked-out-first-time-preggers and that they would tell me that everything was probably fine, but come in and we'll check the heartbeat. BUT, instead, they tell me I need to go to Labor & Delivery immediately. As expected, I then freaked out. When I got to Labor & Delivery they finally checked for a heartbeat and after what seemed like minutes (which was probably really 20 seconds or so) they found the heartbeat way up high on the left side....she is usually down low on the right side! I was ever so thankful to hear that little heartbeat!!! They couldn't really tell me why any of the other things were happening, but were happy for the strong heartbeat so they sent me home. By Tuesday she was moving like normal again! Little stinker better never scare me like that again!!!
Gender: GIRL!!!!
Labor Signs: Negative.
Symptoms: Leg cramps, heartburn and back pain peaked the top of the list the last two weeks. Tums and heat packs are my new best friends!
Belly button in or out: Hanging in there...literally looks like it is hanging...so weird!
Belly button ring in or out: Out. :(
Wedding rings on or off: On!
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
Most surprised about: The things people feel like they can say to pregnant women - it's like we wear a sign that says "Please forget your filter and totally speak your mind...no matter what you are thinking!" For example: (1) the reaction certain folks give when they hear the baby's name (which I will spill once we have the spelling nailed down...I don't want to put anything in writing yet!); (2) all of a sudden "breastfeeding", "nipples", "latching-on", "uterus," etc. are terms people throw around freely no matter the company, sex or age of the person you're talking to (i.e. even if it is your first conversation EVER with a male co-worker probably in his 60's); and (3) "Hey, fat lady" and "Whoa, you just keep expanding" are not the nicest things to say, yet when you are pregnant they apparently become completely acceptable terms of endearment.
Looking forward to: Our Alaska trip and seeing my mom, dad and Cheryl!!! I am also sooo-oo excited to see our good friends, Chris and Kristen, and their adorable new little bundle of joy, Megan!!!

Absolutely loving that baby bump!!!!!
